A Good Sign is a symbol given strength by the passionate, kind, and loving people that carry, share and believe in it. Since 2010, we have used it to inspire the world to be a happier and more friendly place, one Good Sign at a time.

Good Signs are a challenge and opportunity to be optimistic, thankful, and committed to the well-being of others! It is time we learn to have productive responses to struggle. When people carry a Good Sign they are making themselves vulnerable to let others connect and help them be happier and more friendly!

A Good Sign is a reminder that you are not alone, and someone, somewhere is thinking of you enough to go out of their way to inspire a smile on your face, and brighten your day. Good Signs are not about us, they are about you! Our lifestyle brand and positivity movement is a perpetual and collective effort to remind individuals of their brilliance and potential to do all things in which they believe and commit to!  A Good Sign is an excuse to be extraordinary! An opportunity to lead by example. Hope in a better way.

I REALLY needed a good sign, and then you walked into the library. Thank you. A friend and cousin of my youngest son was recently slain in Detroit. All over the news we hear about murders, corrupt politicians, and all kinds of senseless things. Thanks for bringing me the sign that I needed to keep hopeful in these dreary times. It was right on time. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

Martha February 3, 2012 at 7:02 am

Second to last line of your rap or poem or song, should read, “flee” not “fee”. But well and passionately spoken. The light of the world cannot be overcome. True! We all need to let our light shine, and as we learned in the nursery, “this little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.”

A positive mind can redefine the time. Unwind
unravel those negative thoughts that try and design your being
your existence, your uncanny feeling of distance.

Good signs bring us together, consistent.
Good signs can tell us that the only constant is change, persistent.
Keep your eyes on the road Good signs say things we just didn’t know, assistant.

I met Eric this past weekend at the Pie Co in Mid-Michigan. I had no idea who he was, but I had to speak to him. When I saw him I got such a feeling of PEACE. When I introduced myself, he gave me a Good Sign card – very very cool.

Good Sign November 12, 2012 at 9:41 am

Wow, Thanks it was very nice to meet you! :)

I look forward to 2013 as a new beginning for me and my 2 kids. thanks again for the Good Signs pointing me in the right direction. Peace

I was standing outside of a restaurant in Wyandotte, MI when a dude handed me the Good Sign. Right on time. I truly needed that. Keep up the good work! And I’ll be sure to pay it forward.

Rebecca, we appreciate the reciprocal goodness! :) See you around the Dot!

Don O'Neill September 19, 2013 at 1:09 pm

Why does love need a brand? Why does optimism need to be packaged, advertised and sold? I believe in all of these stated values, but I’m not sure how it makes me feel to see those values be given the same treatment as toothpaste or cleaning products.

Good Sign September 21, 2013 at 2:46 am

Once you actually understand what we are doing and how it works we will have your full approval. Im sure of it.

Don O'Neill September 21, 2013 at 7:06 am

Is there something I’m missing that you can explain? Like I said, I’m not condemning or being cynical…I simply am not sure how I feel about the whole concept. What is it about how it works that I should understand?

Good Sign September 21, 2013 at 9:27 am

We are more that just an optimistic icon. We are giving people who want to connect with their community a more effective way to do so. A tool, if you will, and we are now making it available to everyone. We are also giving people a voice and a face. Some people want to get noticed for being a positive person and we give them a great way to do so. Using our signs to identify themselves they can connect with other like minded people more frequently. We are creating a a positivity virus through the action of connecting positively and pointing out the good stuff in the world using our innovative platform. The signs are a great way to call more attention to things that are going well (which is way more effective than protesting the bad stuff) Beyond that we offer new solutions for many old problems. We would have to get very in depth to talk about all that. Please look at the youtube channel to watch some more videos on the subject. youtube: thisisagoodsign

Don O'Neill September 21, 2013 at 10:24 am

I get all that. I guess in my mind, this could be one of two things. It could be a true-hearted and selfless attempt at spreading joy and unity through the modern idiom of branding and viral marketing. Or it could be a profit-making enterprise that sells people the happiness they already posess; one that turns love into a commodity to be trademarked, licensed, advertised and sold, ultimately in service of the almighty dollar rather than any actual human good.

I have no idea which it is, which is why I asked. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. So my question is, if I wanted to print T-shirts of this sign and sell them online myself, do I need your permission? Would I have to pay you to use the sign? Or is this free for anyone to print, make, sell, or do what they want with?

Good Sign September 21, 2013 at 10:37 am

Don, That’s an understandable response. There is a lot of weird marketing stuff out there that could make you think that. I assure we actually have an effective plan and solution. We are just helpers my friend. Be thankful for us. You cannot print the FREE Good Sign for anything else but personal use, No resale . We are also trademarked. but I guarantee you. Once you Do carry one, you’ll never put it down and you will see the plan in action through experience. Look for our guide to Good Signing here on this page.

Glad to have this discussion with you :)

Good Sign Guy

Jordan September 20, 2013 at 10:33 pm

Received this good sign at an avett brothers concert from a girl who was dancing carelessly and loving life. Had no idea what it was about until I came to this site, and it is quite an inspiration. I think I will pass on my good sign to someone else!

Good Sign September 21, 2013 at 2:47 am

Thanks! You can get more signs to give away in our store. It really is about passing it on to others. Glad to see you get it! Welcome :)

Two cars down at hrvst September 22, 2013 at 10:57 pm

This is Ben from Bliss, MI, your neighbor two cars down at Eartworks. So I must admit I didn’t completely understand the good sign concept (still just fresh with it this year) until this weekend. My 1st sighting was at Blissfest, didn’t think too hard about it, then I spotted the good sign bouncing’ at Farmfest. Now I’m intrigued. Harvest Gathering I happen upon Kevin (I remembered) and get a better idea from his rundown on the good sign idea. That stack of signs you gave me to hand out though, that was the greatest explanation ever. In passing them ALL out this wknd I think I get it now. Smiles all around, inside and out, young and old, human to human people are getting it whether they completely know it or not. That’s pretty fuckin great. Hope to bump into you joy monsters again=}

Sandy Reid November 11, 2013 at 5:06 am

My Son was at a City and Colour concert at the Fillmore in Detroit on 9th on Nov. He found it on the ground that day and brought it home. As soon as I saw it I loved it. It just made me feel good inside. Do good, be good, feel good, good will, good people, good idea, How are you? good. It’s just a good word. People are generally good so lets all come together and be really good.
Thank you so much for this sign.

Paul longden November 23, 2013 at 11:04 am

I got my GOOD SIGN at the Frank Turner show in Detroit. I’m taking it back to Canada to my 6th grade classroom to spread the word

Steve Chernishov December 7, 2013 at 5:26 am

This evening I was at a bar in Queenstown & met a great couple named Chris & Mandy * YOUR FRIENDS. Chris told me ‘This is a Good Sign’ is here.
Next time you want to make some huge yellow signs we could work on putting them together using yellow & black sticky vinyl.

Jessie Ramirez January 5, 2014 at 12:04 pm

Hi, so I actually am in possession of a good sign, my friend got it at electric forest last year and our group of friends all take it everywhere we can. I cannot tell you how much people love the good sign, it always puts a smile on people’s faces. In fact, at Basslights that just passed, one girl came up to me and my friend that were holding the sign and she told us that she had been having a bad time, but that the good sign had made her day and thanked us. I see the power of the good sign which is why I wanna get the ambassador kit for electric forest this year. Cant wait. Anyways, you guys are awesome for starting this and dont worry I will continue to share the love for the good sign.

Kimba Dunsmore January 10, 2014 at 5:54 pm

I saw my first good sign this week at Hilton Head, SC. It was a definite eye-catcher and put a smile on my face. When I told the guy carrying it how much I liked it, he handed me a small cardboard replica and said, “Here’s one of your own!” I expected it to have religious information on the back, but was so pleasantly surprised to see the positive message of optimism without any “conditions.” Thank you!!! This is a message I will gladly spread!

Good Sign January 11, 2014 at 4:47 pm

It was a pleasure meeting you Kimba! I gave you the sign and wrote the words on the back :) Please like us on Facebook and see lots of beautiful Hilton Head Island Good Sign pictures!

When Aquarius was reborn after who knows how many millennium it landed on 11.11.11. Sadly, nobody showed up.
When the moon is in the Second House…
and Jupiter Aligns with Mars…
and peace will guide the planets
and LOVE will steer the stars.
What the Hell is the Second House? Anybody?

Kara March 10, 2014 at 7:05 pm

The first time I ever saw a “this is a good sign,” sign was at Electric Forest 2013, I didn’t know what it meant at the time but I liked it! After that, I didn’t learn about them until two days ago, when I went to see UV Hippos at The Intersection in Grand Rapids, Mi. I just want to say I love what you guys are doing and I will be displaying my “this is a good sign,” sticker proudly on my laptop for all to see. :)

Brad miller March 16, 2014 at 1:26 pm

Eric as I promissed last night here my email for u in regaurds to how good sign changed me as well as brought others together whom never knew eachother but yet with the good sign wanted to hug up and take a picture I am a disabled vet suffering from PTSD and bad depression I was giving my first little sign by my friend Kristin as I assume she knew I needed some positivity in my life. She explained it after I asked cause I just thought it was a normal gag sign as I would say some people would think by just looking at the sign but she told me take it out with u and explain what u are trying to do and take a picture with it so I did. I was absolutely amazed by the reception that I got the bands at blarney fest found out I guess by a roadie that I had to a picture with earlier but they chased me down. To be able to say to somebody that they can be yourself in just a picture and for that spilt second u can see right through people it has restored my faith in the people of this country and we will continue to push forward spreading the general idea that we want to bring joy in others life and generally care here is my favorite picture and the best in my opinion you can see through all these people hope this helps and would love to stay in touch thanks so much for being you

We saw alot of your signs at this years Wanee Fest at the Spirit of Suwanee Music Park. It was nice to see a positive image out there in the crowd and affixed to the ends of the festival goers “Rage Sticks”. We also talked with some of t shirt toting peeps, and found them to very pleasant peeps.
