John Mayer is known across all spectrums of the music world. For his influential solo songs that dominated and continue to dominate the airwaves, to his many features with legendary artists from all genres like BB King, Eric Clapton, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. Even with his 11 Grammy nominations (including 7 Grammy wins), he has never failed to let his artistic personality thrive in a position where many others falter.

Before the huge commercial success of his music career took off. He was just another kid from Connecticut; born in Bridgeport and raised Fairfield. He attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, but soon dropped out to pursue his dream of playing his own original creations in small clubs in Atlanta. Heavily influenced by the blues genre, his music began to create a huge following in Atlanta and soon was translated to album sales and tours across the nation.
He has not taken this success lightly though, as he has never squandered an opportunity to give back. John Mayer recently created the Back To You Fund which donates money from auctions of exclusive signed John Mayer memorabilia to causes such as healthcare, the arts, education and talent development. He has also donated his talent to organizations; giving his song ‘Say’ to the Bring Change 2 Mind campaign.

Along with donating his time and possessions to different causes, he has also donated large sums of his wealth to many deserving causes. He has donated to over 20 charities supporting over 15 different causes in different areas disease research and prevention, the arts and environmental causes.
John Mayer has never stopped using his talent and fame for the betterment of society. He has never given up on the idea of making the world a better place. He is an inspiration to all up and coming musicians, that not only they can maintain their artistic independence, but they can also use their talents for others.
