MOVEMENT Detroit adds new amenities for 2014

Movement Electronic Music Festival, taking place Saturday, May 23-Monday, May 25, inside downtown Detroit’s Hart Plaza, is excited to announce a slew of new amenities available to all attendees in and around the festival grounds, including the all-new Technology Area, Lockers & Charging Stations, Free Bike Valet powered by Wheelhouse Detroit, expanded food options and the enhanced Riverfront Biergarten.

Paxahau Events, producers of the festival, have partnered with Opportunity Detroit to offer a variety of top-notch amenities designed to enhance the festival for the thousands expected to descend upon Hart Plaza this weekend.

Some of the highlighted 2015 amenities include:


Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the art and science behind the music by spending time with our Technology partners, featuring some of the industry’s top brands like Allen & Heath, Roland, Serato, Elektron, Dubspot and more. The new Technology Area is located in the Hart Plaza underground, adjacent to the Movement Main Stage and the Underground Stage.


Also, new this year are the Lockers and Charging Stations, located to the right of the festival’s Main Entrance on East Jefferson Avenue. Visitors will be able to save trips to the car or hotel room by utilizing the onsite lockers or cell phone charging stations for added convenience. Local bicycle rental hub and Techno Tours organizer Wheelhouse Detroit will offer discounted rentals to Movement wristband-holders and will also be spearheading the complimentary Bike Valet onsite (just east of Bates, on the south side of Jefferson Ave.).


Several new crowd-pleasing food vendors, including Delectabowl, Rollin’ Stone Pizza and Mercurio’s Chicken Truck will join festival favorites, such El Guapo Mexican food truck, Mac Shack, Andiamo Pizza Pie Co., Slow’s To Go and Byblos Café & Grill and others.

Festival-goers can chill out at the enhanced Riverfront Biergarten, featuring several local, regional and international beer selections as well as an innovative new art installation featuring a curated history of Detroit music, presented by Novation. Hop-heads can enjoy several craft options, from cream ales and amber ales, to IPAs, cider and more from the Detroit area, Michigan and beyond. Highlights include Rochester Mills’ Lazy Daze Amber Ale, MillKing It Productions’ Axl Pale Ale, Frankenmuth Brewing’s Batch 69 IPA, Blake’s Flannel Mouth Hard Cider, New Belgium Fat Tire Amber Ale, Spaten Lager and Hoegaarden Witbier.

In celebration of the city’s events and festivities taking place during Movement weekend, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan declares May 23-25 as Detroit Techno Week in the city’s annual Letter of Recognition for the event.

The Movement Electronic Music Festival takes place every Memorial Day weekend inside Hart Plaza – Detroit’s legendary riverfront destination. The festival features: six technologically-rich outdoor stages; more than 140 artists; a posh VIP setting located behind the main stage; dozens of official afterparties; an interactive technology center featuring the hottest gear in the industry; and several art displays to stimulate the senses. Over More than 107,000 people from around the globe attended the 2014 festival.
